Tantalizing and riveting mystery. . .graced by picturesque and historically correct details. A fast-paced read, the author's charming and expressive vocabulary paints a memorable word picture of each character and the many places Emerald travels. A true page-turner, the writer fully develops each person and their relationship to one another and to the plot. . .without ever loosing you in wordiness! You really KNOW these people and care deeply about them. Then the climax totally surprises and amazes the reader to the very last word. I have found my new favorite author!

Posted November 2, 2009, 3:14 PM EST: I loved the story of Logan's Gem. The characters seem real and I like how they evolve as the story continues. This story has it all - love, romance, history, mystery, intrique, great sex, etc. It was hard to put the book down and I didn't want the story to end. I know this author is new but I sure hope she has other books in the works because I want to read everything she writes.

I was so drawn into the characters, it was easy to see myself and my beloved as the characters and made it so much more exciting. I could not put this book down as I had to know what more there was ahead and was able to read it in a day as I lounged by the pool. It was very hot and the raging love inside of each the Captain and Emerald and yet the tenderness that the Captain exemplified...WOW!! I was completely surprised at the ending of whom was doing all the nastyness. Logan's Gem was such a thrill and left me wanting more! I can not wait for the next book form Donna Daniels!!
